CONTEXT

Why this product exists.

Rota Urbana needed a dependable way to organize group cycling events and handle the participant flow around each ride.

PROBLEM / CHALLENGE

What needed solving.

The application had to make event information and reservations easy to understand on mobile while keeping administrative status and participant data consistent.

SOLUTION

What I built.

A focused platform for event management, participant registration, reservation codes, reservation lookup, status management and a mobile-friendly administrative workflow.

ENGINEERING DECISIONS

Intentional choices over complexity.

01

Clear reservation states

Reservation lookup and status handling make the operational state visible instead of relying on informal spreadsheets or messages.

02

Mobile-first flows

Participants often access event information from their phones, so the core path prioritizes readable content, direct actions and resilient layouts.

03

Operational simplicity

The product stays focused on the event lifecycle, avoiding features that would add friction to the people running and joining rides.

LESSONS FROM PRODUCTION

What real usage teaches.

Operating a platform that processed thousands of reservations reinforced the importance of validation, predictable states and interfaces that work under real event-day pressure.

Next project

Future improvements can focus on expanding automated coverage around reservation transitions and making deployment routines more repeatable.
